…but what if it doesn’t? There is nothing quite as distressing than not having heat when you need it the most.

Fortunately for homeowners in the Nashville area, Airbusters has an entire team of highly trained technicians that want to help you get the comfortable warmth of your home back – with a heating system that works reliably and efficiently.

Common Problems & Our Suggested Solutions

Here are some of the most common issues we’ve dealt with over the years. Some of them you might be able to address yourself and, in other cases, some professional help will be needed. For quality care at affordable prices, our crew is just a quick phone call away.

❄️ Problem: My Heating System Fan Isn’t Working

If the fan of your heating system isn’t working check your thermostat and make sure that it is on the appropriate settings. Sometimes thermostats have an “auto” setting that regulates when the fan comes on and goes off, removing the manual control that you are looking for.

If your thermostat seems to be set right, check your filter. A dirty filter can make your heating system work too hard and cause the fan to shut off.

If your thermostat and filter are how they should be, check your circuit breakers. It is possible that something caused a breaker to switch off.

And, finally, if you have checked all of these things and none of them get your fan started, contact a licensed tech from Airbusters Heating & Cooling Service for help.

❄️ Problem: My Heating System Won’t Turn Off

If your thermostat is set how you want, it could be a wiring issue. If you are experienced in wiring make sure that you safely troubleshoot your connections. If you don’t know how to do that, don’t worry, we do. Airbusters Heating & Cooling Service is fully equipped to get your thermostat working properly.

❄️ Problem: My Pilot Light Won’t Stay Lit

Sometimes newer heaters have sensors that will electronically ignite your pilot light. If the sensors get dirty, ignition may not happen as it’s supposed to. This can be easily fixed simply by cleaning off the sensor.

❄️ Problem: My House Isn’t Heating Uniformly

You may notice that some rooms of your house get very warm, while others remain quite cool. This usually indicates hardware issues such as a dirty filter, broken fan belt, bearing issues, or ductwork issues. First things first, change your filter. It’s an easy and inexpensive thing to check and it should be replaced on a regular basis.

If that doesn’t help give us a call at Airbusters Heating & Cooling Service so we can help you locate and fix the problem.

❄️ Problem: My Thermostat Controls Don’t Seem To Be Working

Check and see if your thermostat uses batteries and replace them if they do.

If the batteries are good, set your thermostat to factory settings. If it works with these settings, it tells you that one of the settings you had it on was causing an issue – and not the thermostat itself.

If neither of those things work, it may be time to replace your thermostat. But before you do give Airbusters Heating & Cooling Service a call so we can confirm that your old one actually doesn’t work. If you want, we can even help you decide on the best replacement for your home.

❄️ Problem: My Energy Bills Are Running High

  • Make sure your air filters are clean and replace them regularly. Clean air filters will help your heating system to run efficiently and not work as hard.
  • Make sure your house is well insulated. Check around doors and windows to make sure there are unexpected drafts causing your heating system to have to make up for the cold temperatures being let in.
  • Make sure your duct work and heating system hardware is working properly. Sometimes a part can wear down and cause air to escape leading to unintended inefficiencies in the system.
